The Piano-Teacher is an interactive instrumental toy designed to help children learn music using a small, portable electronic piano. Various songs and tunes are programmed into the toy, and these tunes are transcribed into musical notes. The display screen shows several notes in a measure, and the consumer would attempt to play the tune by pressing the correct key. The Piano-Teacher plays the sound when the consumer hits the correct note, but no sound will be heard when the incorrect note is pressed. Once all of the notes on screen are played, the screen displays the next measure, and the consumer continues to play until the song has been completed.

The key feature of this toy is its portability. As a result, the keyboard spans two octaves to reduce the size and weight. In addition, keyboards will be manufactured with plastic instead of wood to make the toy lighter, and the toy would be powered using AA batteries. To compete with other hand-held electronic toys, the commercial price of Piano-Teacher is targeted between $20-30.
